Our CALIMA earrings are designed and handmade by Colombian jewelers with a deep understanding of pre-Columbian cultures and their craftsmanship. This sober and beautiful pair showcases the elegance of onyx, with the top round shape evoking a Calima chest ornament. The Calima, a pre-Columbian civilization from present-day Colombia, created gold and copper chest ornaments for shamans and leaders as symbols of power and cosmovision. For this design, our artisans drew inspiration from pre-Columbian artifacts at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia's capital, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. These earrings are carefully crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for durability and an elegant radiant touch.
