Our FRIDA earrings are designed and handmade by Colombian jewelers with a special flair for pre-Columbian cultures and their craftsmanship. This sophisticated dangling design highlights the natural luster of pearls, the elegance of turquoise, and the vibrancy of agate. This delicate bouquet of gems at the base adds a graceful touch of color and texture. The long golden posts evoke pre-Columbian ceremonial staves, powerful symbols of authority and leadership, connection to the spiritual and ancestral worlds, and wisdom, among other meanings. Our artisans modeled this design after pre-Columbian artifacts exhibited at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia's capital, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. These earrings are carefully crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for higher durability and a stylish luminous touch.
