Our ELDORADO ARETERA necklace is handcrafted by Colombian artisans with a special affinity for pre-Columbian cultures, their symbolism, and artistry. The form of this pendant is inspired by pre-Columbian earrings, which held profound meaning as cultural and spiritual expressions and were key elements of body ornamentation. The name ARETERA also means "earrings" in Spanish, particularly in the context of Pre-Columbian jewelry. This design is attributed to the Zenú or Sinú culture, a civilization that thrived in ancient Colombia. It was inspired by artifacts at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. This piece is crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for higher durability and radiance.
