Our JOYACIA WAYUU bag is here! An outstanding accessory and a clear showcase of artisanal mastery. It is hand-crocheted by Wayuu artisans, the largest indigenous group in Colombia, who inhabit La Guajira, a department on its Caribbean coast. For its creation, the artisans use optimum-quality acrylic threads, applying the ancestral technique of crochet (ganchillo). This crafting skill is a cultural tradition passed down from generation to generation, learned by the women from a young age. This bag was crafted with dense, double-thread crochet, taking the artisan approximately 10 to 12 days to complete the design with a meticulous and durable finish. Furthermore, each piece includes a secure zipper closure. The Wayuu society is matriarchal, and its women have transformed their art of thread into a widely recognized style, becoming a key source of income and family livelihood.

 CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Hand washing is strongly recommended. If machine washing, use a protective mesh bag and select a delicate cycle with cold water. A fabric softener is recommended for the final rinse in both methods to maintain thread softness. Do not bleach or use hot water. Air dry in the shade. If ironing is required, use a medium heat setting and place a thin protective cloth between the bag and the iron. When not in use, store the bag in the provided pouch in a dry area, avoiding humidity. Please check the information tag inside the bag.
