Our SNAKOO necklace is designed and handcrafted by Colombian jewelers with a very special understanding of pre-Columbian cultures, their symbolism, and artistry. Drawing inspiration from the multifaceted symbolic meaning that snakes or serpents held among these fascinating pre-Columbian civilizations (related to wisdom, protection, a connection to the underworld, and renewal), our artisans based this design on original pre-Columbian artifacts depicting snakes exhibited at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia's capital, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. This necklace is carefully crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for higher durability and an elegant touch of radiance and charm.
