Our FILUM earrings gracefully integrate handweaving techniques and abstract art. What began as an exploration of color, geometry, and texture, rapidly evolved to an attractive threadwork design that will catch attention. These pieces are handcrafted with threads, intricately woven on wooden bases, while the elegance of 925 sterling silver frames and posts provide a refined final touch. Each pair is meticulously crafted by a socially-focused female artisan who trains and employs people facing social barriers, helping them regain purpose and productivity in their community through handcrafts. She based her atelier in Pasto, a southern Colombian city known for its vibrant cultural heritage and carnival; the UNESCO-recognized "Carnaval de negros y blancos" (Black and White Carnival) celebrated every January.

The frames of these earrings are crafted from 925 sterling silver, which naturally oxidizes over time when exposed to air. To restore its original shine, simply polish the piece from time to time using the provided polishing cloth (do not wash the cloth as it works better unwashed). Do not use any cleaning solutions. To minimize oxidation when not in use, store your product in the complimentary airtight bag and keep it in the accompanying pouch in a dry place.
