Our ALITA earrings are handmade by Colombian artisans with a special affinity for pre-Columbian cultures and their artistry. This detailed portrayal of wings beautifully echoes the immense significance bird feathers and wings held for ancient civilizations, as symbols of elevated prestige, divine connection, freedom, and sacred protection. This design was inspired by pre-Columbian artifacts exhibited at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia's capital, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. These earrings are carefully crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for higher durability and an elegant, glossy touch.
