Our NARIGUERA earrings are an artisanal creation by Colombian artisans passionate about pre-Columbian cultures. Their form, named "nariguera" (meaning nose ring in Spanish), is a recurrent shape in many of our pre-Columbian inspired pieces with variations. Nose rings were a decorative element for many pre-Columbian civilizations, symbolizing status and kinship, among other meanings. This design was inspired by pre-Columbian nose rings exhibited at the Museum of Gold in Bogota, Colombia's capital, home to the world's largest collection of pre-Columbian goldwork. These earrings are carefully crafted in 24K gold-plated pewter with a protective cataphoretic lacquer finish for higher durability and an elegant, glossy touch.
